Here is one more of “cube” mode to make users of other OS jealous
openSUSE users grab compiz-fusion-git packages from home:cyberorg (experimental/unstable) repository. Wait till all the packages (except emerald*) are synced out to the mirrors and have the same version (080502).

An associate of mine have had a hilarious idea ever since we saw the Atlantas. (Funny is in the eye of the beholder
Our idea is to have monkey in the middle (or many monkeys (even better right :-)) that throw poop that splats on the internal side of the transparent cube.
Cheers,
Rick

nice concept rounded n all, but transparency looks so damn ugly, like a game using the quake 2 engine or something.
i wonder if theres anychance of some texturing/reflections so it looks and feels like glass, instead of see through object.

Users of other OS’s and those of us with ATI GPU’s that don’t yet have support.

I am on ATI fglrx.

I’m on a Radeon x800, open-source drivers, there’s plenty of support, most of it just isn’t coming from ATI.

Why would I be jealous ?
I have had these effects in Fedora since 26/04/08 !

Hi CyberOrg,
Just a quick question , how do you get the reverse of the window brighter ? ( see screen shot )
http://www.fedoraforum.org/gallery/showimage.php?i=4323
The backs of my windows are darker and seem to have a shadow lighting effect ( what plugin controls this ? )
Thanks
Leigh

ccsm -> general -> display settings -> lighting

Atlantis screensaver is improving nicely. Hope they add texture next, then screen saver will be very cool.

Tsk, tsk, cyberorg. Two questions: how old are you, and how long have you been using a Linux kernel based OS? Don’t make me sic RMS on you :).
Still, it is a nice effect. IMO the name does not match what it is though. When I think of a “sliced sphere”, I think of an orange or tomato cut into flat slices. This is more like “spiral ribbon slices”, or maybe “peeled sphere”. Just my 2 cents.

Yes. That’s actually a very logical improvement because it hides the limitations of desktop facets. As you add facets, it maintains its shape along with a very polished and sleek appearance. The circular desktop is very smart! But mine would be hollow.

Uh, and “DB” if you can create a better one, then you can name it. Otherwise…!
